PDMS
Definition
Polydimethylsiloxane — the workhorse elastomer for soft lithography: transparent, gas-permeable, and easy to mould and bond.
Explanation
Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is a transparent, flexible, gas-permeable silicone elastomer.
It is cast against a micro-patterned mould (soft lithography) to replicate channels quickly and cheaply, making it the workhorse material for research prototypes.
